The Samsung Galaxy J1 is available only in Malaysia right now, and one can expect it to be available in other Asian markets, including India, very soon.
Galaxy J1 is priced around 100 euros ($115), or INR 7,000, which is INR 500 more than what Android One devices are selling for. And those One devices come with a spec-sheet that’s better than J1, while also carrying a promise of Lollipop update from none other than Google.

Ok, here are the Galaxy J1 specs.
The Galaxy J1 features a 4.3″ WVGA display with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels (same as Galaxy S of 2010), albeit LCD TFT one, and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 512 MB RAM. There’s 4GB of internal storage, with support for microSD card.
Galaxy J1 also features a 5MP camera at its back while 2MP shooter is ready to snap your selfies. Other features include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, etc.
A 1850mAh battery powers all things Galaxy J1, and it runs Android 4.4, laden with Samsung’s own TouchWiz, of course.
It’s a very mediocre device, although belonging to a new series which we hope would bring an exciting device to the fore. But no, Samsung being Samsung, it’s yet another overpriced device, after Galaxy Grand Neo Plus.
